If you’re new to the vegan world, you may be wondering about some of the food staples you used to enjoy. Take orange juice, for example. Is it really vegan?
The answer is yes…but only if it’s made with oranges! To make sure that’s the case, check the ingredient list on the label. The only thing that should be listed is “orange juice.” If there are other ingredients present, such as sugar or flavoring, then the juice is not technically vegan.
Of course, this doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy it. Many vegans are comfortable consuming products that contain minor animal-derived ingredients like sugar or certain flavors. The key is to make sure that these products weren’t produced using major cruelty like factory farming or the egg industry.
